Join Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity and take on the UK’s most sparkly 5k fun run!
Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity brightens the lives of seriously ill young people and their families by granting wishes and providing ongoing support in hospitals and within the community. This summer they are joining forces with face and body art specialists, Go Get Glitter, to hold the UK’s most sparkly fun run, the Glitter Run, through the iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. This is one not to be missed!

On entering this event you should receive a booking confirmation email within 10 minutes. If you fail to do so, please check your spam/junk folder. Further event details will be communicated by email (to the address provided during registration) in the week leading up to the race.
When: 4 July 2019 at 18:00.
Where: The Last Drop, 5 Thornton Street, London. E20 2AD. (As a result of periodic improvement works in the park, it may be necessary to change the race route at short notice. In such cases the race may begin at the Timber Lodge Café, 1A Honour Lea Ave, London. E20 1DY. Confirmation will be provided in the pre-race communication email in the week leading up to the race).
Pricing: £50
Entry on the Day: Subject to a £2 surcharge (cash only, subject to availability).
Registration: From 17:00 to 17:45.
Race Numbers: For collection at registration on the day only, numbers will not be posted. To be fastened to the front of your top using safety pins provided at registration, your number should be visible at all times. Your timing chip is attached to the back of your number and should not be removed.
Timing: Chip-timed.
Route: The course consists of 2-laps, all on tarmac or hard gravel pathway, and is suitable for runners of all abilities. Please always be vigilant of other runners, spectators, dogs, cyclists and other users of public footpaths and rights of way.
Spectators: Spectators can watch from anywhere on the course and will see runners pass three times wherever they are situated.
Licensing:
Pacers: Pacers will not be offered at this race.
Bag Drop: Whilst we recommend bringing as little as possible, you can leave your belongings with us while you race using the tear-off baggage strip on your race number, collecting after you finish by presenting your race number.
Toilets: There are free toilets in The Last Drop for use throughout the event.
Race Marshals: Marshals will be present on the course throughout the race.
Distance Markers: The route will be clearly indicated with arrows, tape and Km markers where necessary.
Water Stations: There will be water stations on the route at the finish, passed on each lap, at which water will be provided in recyclable plastic cups.
Goody Bag: All runners will receive a goody bag on finishing the race.
Refreshments: Refreshments will be available in The Last Drop throughout the event.
Changing/Showers: Whilst there are no dedicated changing rooms or showers, you will be able to use the nearby London Aquatics Centre shower facilities for a small fee of £2 when showing your race number on entry.
Lost Property: Lost property from an event will be kept for one month. If unclaimed, or ownership cannot be determined, lost property items will be donated to charity.
Results: Results will be uploaded live to our website (internet connection permitting) and, where possible/practical, timing print-outs will be available at the race. In all cases, results will be communicated to all pre-registered participants within 24 hours of the event.
Medals: All finishers will receive a medal on completing the race.
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the top three runners overall and the top runner in each of the veteran categories (V40/V50/V60/V70) for both males and females. Where possible, we will endeavour to present individual race prizes as soon as validated on the day.

Parking: On-site parking will not be available, please visit the park website for further information on the availability of parking nearby.
Buggies/Pushchairs: This race is suitable for runners with buggies/pushchairs. You will be asked to sign a disclaimer, start at the back of the field and be vigilant of other runners overtaking during the race.
Wheelchair Users: This race is suitable for wheelchair users. You may be asked to start at the front of the field 5-10 minutes before the scheduled start time and be vigilant of other runners overtaking during the race.
Earphones/Headphones: Noise-cancelling earphones/headphones are prohibited and whilst we discourage the use of other earphones/headphones at this event, participants choosing to use them should ensure they are set to a minimum volume such that instructions from marshals or other race officials can be clearly understood. We reserve the right to disqualify participants who cannot hear instructions as a result of their use.
Event Time-Limit: Whilst there is no strict time-limit for this race, in order that we adhere to the restrictions imposed by the venue hire agreement, it may be necessary for us to begin deconstruction of the registration/finish area(s) after approximately 1 hour to facilitate the removal of all equipment from the premises by the agreed time.
Event Registration
By entering an event hosted by The Race Organiser Ltd. you are confirming that you understand and agree to the terms and conditions detailed below, the contents of which we reserve the right to amend at any time. These terms may differ across events.
You agree to receive communications from us relating to the specific event for which you have registered.
You agree that any medical or emergency contact information you provide to us will be shared with the event medical provider to best ensure your safety in case of a medical emergency.
You agree that we may publish your personal information as part of the event results and may pass such information to the governing body or any affiliated organisation for the purpose of insurance, licensing or for publishing results either for the event alone or combined with or compared to other events. Results may include (but will not be limited to) name, gender, club affiliation, team, race time and age category.
Your personal information will not be shared for any purpose other than fulfilling our obligation to provide the service for which you have registered unless you have provided explicit consent for us to do so.
You agree to adhere to the rules of the event as outlined by the race director, event staff, stewards, marshals, police or medical providers and in accordance with any requirements stipulated by any affiliated organisations (where applicable).
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel applications (including duplicate applications) and to withdraw entrants from an event who are acting in a manner detrimental to the enjoyment or health and safety of themselves or others. Such withdrawals will occur without refund and anyone that opts to continue does so entirely at their own risk.
We reserve the right to alter the time and/or date of the event, the course route, distance, fees or prizes and offer transfers in place of refunds if an event is cancelled or postponed due to circumstances outside our control.
In accordance with UK Athletics guidelines, we require event participants to meet the following minimum age requirements on the date of the event.
Additionally, Triathlon participants must be 15/17 years of age on the day of the event for Sprint/Olympic distances respectively.
All entrants must be fit to compete and should, where necessary, seek medical advice prior to participating. Whilst every reasonable care is taken, entrants cannot hold the organisers, sponsors or landowners responsible for their health or safety whilst participating in an event.
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST SUPPLY ANY RELEVANT MEDICAL INFORMATION ON THE REVERSE OF THEIR RACE NUMBER PRIOR TO STARTING THE RACE. WHERE A PARTICIPANT HAS IDENTIFIED ANY MEDICAL CONDITIONS/ALLERGIES, A LARGE RED CROSS SHOULD BY MARKED ON THE FRONT OF THEIR RACE NUMBER USING PENS PROVIDED AT RACE REGISTRATION.
Whilst every effort is made to ensure the safety and security of items left at any staffed bag-drop, entrants cannot hold the organisers, sponsors or landowners responsible for any loss or damage to property or personal belongings left under the responsibility of The Race Organiser at an event.
By registering and participating, you grant permission to The Race Organiser Ltd. to use photographs, motion pictures or recordings of you or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose.
Cancellation, Refunds & Transfers
Entry fees are refundable until two weeks prior to the start of the event, after which such refunds will incur a £5 administration charge. Entry fees become non-refundable one week prior to the start of the event.
Subject to any price difference, transfers to an alternative event or participant (as a result of illness, injury or other circumstance) are permissible at no charge until one week prior to the start of the event, after which such transfers will incur a £5 administration charge. We reserve the right to refuse transfer requests received later than 2 business days prior to the start of the event.
Entrants are NOT PERMITTED to transfer their registration/number to another participant without confirmation from The Race Organiser Ltd. Participating in someone else's place can have serious consequences in the case of a medical emergency. Furthermore, the accuracy of race results is dependent on our ability to maintain accurate information about competitors and we reserve the right to disqualify any participant who does not adhere to these stipulations.
